Batch CBD Review

We appreciated getting a real glimpse into what seems to be a professional yet positive company culture on the About Us page of the Batch CBD website. Rather than stuffy corporate portraits, we’re greeted by smiling faces and introduced to a team that loves “craft beers, summertime, and the Packers.”

That doesn’t mean they aren’t serious about hemp and CBD. The products begin as carefully sourced Wisconsin hemp, and the Batch team is so serious about transparency that they offer guided tours of their offices and manufacturing facilities (by appointment). The company is vertically-integrated, meaning they shepherd their creations through every stage of the process from the initial crop to the final consumable product.

All Batch CBD products are full-spectrum, meaning they contain trace amounts of THC (but below the legal limits of 0.3%), along with tailored terpene blends. That allows you to take advantage of the entourage effect without “feeling high.” There are fairly comprehensive third-party lab reports available for each product, too.

Batch is full of small details that impressed us, from the rectangular bottles of CBD oil to the sustainable packaging used to ship them to us. We tried out several of their products over a few weeks, in order to see how they’d stack up to stress, chronic pain, and the anxieties of everyday life. Read on to find out what we discovered.

This oil has a minty, slightly spicy flavor that would go great in a cup of chamomile tea, offering may be the perfect bedtime nightcap. One dropperful (1ml) delivers about 100mg of potent cannabinoids, so you may want to start with a half dropper or less, depending on how much you struggle to sleep.

Rather than the approach many companies take to their sleep blends – added melatonin – Batch CBD’s Dream CBD Oil uses tailored terpenes, along with a pair of added relaxing botanical ingredients (peppermint and black seed oil). While there’s nothing wrong with melatonin if it works for you, it can leave some people groggy in the morning. Others prefer to take it separately so they can tailor their dose. We appreciated the Batch CBD’s unique formula a lot here, as it seemed to ease anxiety and promote dreamy relaxation. For the strength, the price is also very reasonable.

Even though Batch CBD’s Calm blend isn’t as strong as some of their other CBD oil products, we were still impressed by its ability to keep us relaxed during stressful meetings and appointments. While each Batch CBD oil is based around the same base elements, there are some flavor differences due to the differing terpene blends. At the same time, if you prefer flavored extracts, you may want to try another brand or opt for the Batch CBD gummies instead. Keep reading, as we reviewed those below (and spoiler, they taste great).

One great feature of Batch CBD oils which we haven’t mentioned yet is the box, which features an easy dosing diagram to help you make the best use of the dropper. Since “how do I measure my CBD dose?” is one of the most common questions we hear from newer consumers, this is a vital feature missing from many other brands.

Batch CBD has something special in their Gold Reserve Blend. This is more than just a high dose of CBD, but a full-spectrum powerhouse that also features significant levels of CBG, a vital but often overlooked cannabinoid. While the price is certainly a little bit higher, for experienced consumers or those that need high doses with a good balance of different compounds, this is a fantastic choice. Despite the strength, the flavor is similar or even milder than some of the other oils on this list. It’s definitely not too hempy and tastes mostly of the terpenes. Speaking personally, our reviewer found this blend to quickly ease some symptoms of a chronic pain condition, including mental fatigue.

CBG is sometimes called the ‘mother of all cannabinoids’ because its presence is vital to the formation of other cannabinoids during the growth of the hemp or cannabis plant. However, very little of it typically survives to maturity, especially in high-THC strains. As a result, creating a high-quality, high-CBG tincture takes skill. Scientists believe CBG could have a host of benefits of its own, many of which, like reducing inflammation, could overlap with CBD and enhance the theoretical “entourage effect.”

Ingredients: Organic MCT Coconut Oil, Purified Hemp Extract (Aerial Parts), CBG Isolate, Organic Orange Oil, Organic Lemon Oil, Clarity Terpene Blend: Limonene, Caryophyllene, Pinene.

Batch’s fruity CBD gummies were a hit, even satisfying the pickiest taste buds in our reviewer’s household. These have a wonderfully satisfying sugar-coated gummy texture, and three flavors (blueberry, raspberry, and mango) which you can tell apart by color. We gobbled up the mango-flavored ones, first. There’s definitely a bit of hempy aftertaste, as one commonly finds in many strong gummies like these, but the flavors do a great job of masking it. We appreciated that these gummies are vegan, all-natural and also apparently gluten-free though they aren’t labeled as such.

Speaking of labels, we did notice the labels on these gummies were harder to read, with smaller print and symbols than the other products on offer from Batch. It was far from a deal-breaker, though, and mostly stood out because the other products have such clean, clear labeling.

Apart from that, these are a fun and effective product. With 25mg per gummy, this will be a great dosage for many people, especially if you’re adding Batch CBD Gummies as a little treat alongside your regular CBD routine whenever you need a little boost.

Ingredients: Corn Syrup, Pectin, Juice Powder, Citric Acid, Malic Acid, Distilled Full-Spectrum Hemp Extract, Natural and Artificial Flavor, Refined Organic Coconut Oil, Soy Lecithin.

Like their regular CBD gummies, Batch Nighttime CBD + CBG Gummies are vegan, naturally flavored, and gluten-free. And it’s also a melatonin-free option for better sleep, for folks who prefer a natural approach to sleep but don’t benefit from that particular supplement (or even just take it separately). Unfortunately, we also found the label a little hard to read, like their other variety of gummy.

On the other hand, these gummies are unique even compared to Batch’s Dream formula oil. They’ve combined their powerful and effective full-spectrum hemp extract with additional CBN to create a potent gummy: 25mg of CBD plus 15mg of CBN per candy. While the research on CBN is still lacking, many consumers report powerful sedative effects. CBN only appears in very small quantities in most hemp plants and hemp products, which is why they’ve added CBN isolate to their full-spectrum formula to make this product possible.

This is a very high dose of CBN, so we’d recommend trying half a gummy at first if you’ve never experienced this cannabinoid before and how it works for you. Both passionflower and L-Theanine are also purported to have a powerful relaxing effect in humans. Altogether, we found these to be a great insomnia beater. Even social media doomscrolling or video-game boss fights couldn’t keep our eyes open after we’d eaten one of these. And even though there’s only one flavor (raspberry), we found it a tasty treat.

Ingredients: Tapioca, Pectin, Citric Acid, L-Theanine, Passion Flower Extract, Distilled Full-Spectrum Hemp Extract, CBN Isolate, Natural Flavors (Raspberry from Fruit), Natural Colors (Fruit), Refined Organic Coconut Oil.

This is another Batch CBD product that’s both effective and well-designed. It smells great, without a mentholated or medicinal smell, and it’s designed to absorb quickly into the skin. We couldn’t be happier with the applicator, either: it’s easy to use the stick, then put it away without getting a mess everywhere. And it felt amazing when we rubbed it into a family member’s sore and locked-up shoulder.

With both camphor and menthol, Batch’s topical CBD quickly begins both cooling and warming wherever you apply. The amounts of each are relatively low, so you won’t find the sensation overwhelming. There are people out there who prefer either cooling or warming sensations but not both. And they may prefer the regular Batch CBD Balm instead. However, if you’re dealing with tough muscle pain or want to speed post-workout recovery, we think this would be a great choice. The stick with its screw-on lid would be easy to keep securely in a purse or workout bag, too.

With just a glance above, you can see that the pros far outweigh the cons when it comes to Batch CBD. This is a product line that reflects quality and care all throughout, without resulting in an inflated price tag at checkout. In many ways, this feels like a “luxury” CBD brand without paying luxury prices.

Batch CBD is also a great choice for people who believe there’s a better way to build a hemp business.
